Care and Maintenance

This page will give you direction and options for care and maintenance for your purchased products.

Tables: We finish all tables with Rubio Monocoat 2C unless otherwise specified. Custom orders have the ability to have a finish of your choice.

You will receive a brochure will each table that will include all the information for care and maintenance. You will also receive a sample of the recommended cleaner for your table. It is supplied in an easy-to-use spray bottle. The cleaner is composed of plant-based materials.

Charcuterie and Cutting Boards: Our boards are finished with a food-grade oil from the manufacturer, Walrus Oil. Please understand no walruses were harmed in the making of the oils! This is only their logo. These oils, butters, and waxes are made of plant-based materials only. Just like good knives, cast iron pans, or any other quality kitchen essential, cutting boards and charcuterie boards are investments that require proper care and maintenance.

We recommend you clean your board after each use. A simple wash with mild soap and water is all that is needed for cleaning. Be sure to dry the board completely. Treat the surface with a food-grade oil that will not go rancid. We recommend Walrus Oil's board oil and wax. The wax is an added layer of protection. You may use any purchased board oil or simple mineral oil.

If you notice stains on your board, simply cut a lemon in half and rub it over the stain until it is removed. Treat your board with oil and/or wax when it is completely dry.

Your board is constructed from wood. DO NOT place it in the dishwasher. They are not intended to be subjected to water for long periods of time. You will run the risk of warping your board. DO NOT use harsh chemicals to clean your board. You will be eating off of this surface and you do not want to run the risk of ingesting unsafe chemicals. You also do not want to place your board over direct heat. Again, your board is wood. Do not risk a fire.

BBQ Boards: Your board has been pre-seasoned with a food-grade oil and wax from the manufacturer Walrus Oil. Please understand no walruses were harmed in the making of the oils! This is only their logo. These oils, butters, and waxes are made of plant-based materials only.

We recommend you clean and oil your board after each use. A simple wash with a mild soap and water is all that is required. Please ensure you pay attention to the juice grooves and any other indentation. Once the board is completely dry, we recommend oiling the board with a food-grade oil that will not go rancid. Simple mineral oil works quite well. You may add a food-grade wax as added protection.
